System Engineer

Responsibilities

Install, configure and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu, Debian, Red Hat, etc.).
Set up and configure servers and network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.).
Design and manage networks (VLANs, VPNs, DNS, load balancers, remote access, etc.).
Deploy and manage services with Docker.
Automate infrastructure and routine tasks (Bash, Python, etc.).
Set up monitoring, logging and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK, etc.).
Set up CI/CD pipelines and work closely with developers.
Respond quickly to incidents and find the root cause.
Own backups, disaster recovery, access control and security updates.
Keep system documentation up to date.

Comfortable on the command line in any one of Ubuntu, Debian or Red Hat.
Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VPNs, firewalls and load balancing.
Have used Docker and Docker Compose.
Can write scripts in any one of Bash or Python.
Comfortable with Git.
Calm, methodical troubleshooting.
Team player who enjoys learning new things.
A bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or Networking is an advantage.

Experience with any one of AWS, GCP or Azure.
Have configured reverse proxies or load balancers such as Nginx, HAProxy or Traefik.
Have set up CI/CD with any one of GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Jenkins.
Experience with GPU and CUDA environments.
